The core logic of selecting a suitable centrifugal spray dryer lies in the material's directional setting and the evaporation capacity's specification determination. Price should not be the sole criterion for model selection, and it is necessary to match the production scenario from multiple dimensions.

First, let's clarify the basic adaptation boundaries and confirm the material adaptability: Centrifugal type is more suitable for low-viscosity solutions, lotions, and suspensions with viscosity <300cps. For high-viscosity paste-like substances, priority should be given to pressure spray dryers.

Based on production capacity, determine the basic model: For laboratory small-scale tests, select a micro model with an evaporation capacity of several kilograms per hour. For pilot tests, choose a model with a capacity of 5-50kg/h. For industrial production, select a model ranging from 50-6500kg/h based on the actual water evaporation capacity.


Meeting thermal sensitivity requirements: For heat-sensitive materials such as enzyme preparations, probiotics, and traditional Chinese medicine extracts, it is necessary to choose a machine with adjustable inlet air temperature ranging from 50-180℃ and short material residence time to avoid degradation of effective components.


II. Key points for checking core configuration: Material compliance: Components that come into contact with materials should preferably be made of 316L stainless steel. Equipment used in the pharmaceutical and food industries must comply with GMP/FDA standards, and there should be no internal cleaning dead zones.


Atomizing disc performance: The rotational speed of the centrifugal atomizing disc should be adjustable within the range of 8000-25000 rpm, and should be matched according to the characteristics of the material. Notably, a higher rotational speed does not necessarily equate to better performance.


Temperature control accuracy: Priority should be given to models equipped with PID constant temperature regulation and a temperature control accuracy of ±1℃. The inlet air temperature range should fully cover the process requirements of the materials.


Dry powder recovery rate: The dry powder recovery rate of excellent equipment should be ≥95%. A system equipped with a cyclone separator and a bag filter achieves better material collection efficiency.


III. Customization and selection of special materials, including organic solvent materials: Ordinary open centrifuges are not suitable. Closed-loop models are required, featuring nitrogen closed-loop circulation, online oxygen monitoring, explosion-proof interlocking, and solvent recovery functions.

Flammable, explosive, or toxic materials: Customized explosion-proof configuration is required, with all electrical components undergoing explosion-proof treatment, and equipped with alarm interlock devices for overtemperature, overpressure, and abnormal oxygen content.


Materials with high solvent content: Choose models that can be equipped with a solvent recovery system, achieving a solvent recovery rate of over 98%.


IV. Before finalizing the final selection and proceeding with formal procurement, it is recommended to complete material testing and verification to clarify core indicators such as production capacity, material characteristics, and compliance requirements.


Compare the plans from multiple manufacturers, application cases in the same industry, and after-sales service response capabilities, rather than just comparing equipment quotations.


Include key performance parameters, delivery lead times, and after-sales maintenance terms explicitly in the supply contract to avoid subsequent issues related to parameter discrepancies.
